Dynamics 365 Business Central – How to try out the new Chat with Copliot functionality in the UK

The 2024 wave 1 update of Business Central introduces the new “Chat with Copilot” feature. However, at the moment, this is only available in the US localisation of Business Central.

If like me you can’t wait to try this out, and you are outside of the US, you can still do this by creating a Sandbox with the US localisation.

To do this go to the “Admin Centre” in Business Central as per below.

**You’ll need to have permissions to access this. I explain the permissions needed in this YouTube Video)

Once in the Admin Centre click “New”

Enter an Environment Name, select the “Type” as “Sandbox” and select the “Country” as “US”.

You can then see the Environment “preparing”.

Once the Sandbox is Active you can click the “Sandbox_US” link and then the URL to access the Sandbox:

Once in Business Central you can see you have the Copilot icon in the Application Bar

You can now start experimenting with the new Chat with Copilot feature 🙂

You can find out more about Copilot using this link.

Conclusion

Although Microsoft are rolling out Chat with Copilot to more regions soon, you can get a sneak peek wherever you are by creating a US Sandbox.

Dynamics 365 Business Central – Making the most of your Business Central Trial – Accessing the Admin Centre and creating Sandboxes

This is the fifth video in the video series “Making the most of your Business Central Trial”. This video series is intended to help new users on their journey with the Business Central Trial, although it may also prove helpful for those already familiar and using Business Central.

In this video I explore the Business Central Admin Centre and go through how to create a new Sandbox.

Along the way I show the permissions required to access the Admin Centre and use cases for creating and using Sandboxes.

I also explain that although they are typically used in the development cycle of new customisations for Business Central, they can also be used to investigate new core Business Central features prior to enabling them in your Production environment.

I hope you enjoy it 🙂
